The maps illustrate the evolution of a particular city called Nelson since 2000. Overall, the city has become noticeably more comfortable to live in after the modifications. The elimination of train station and trees has been followed by the introduction of a new train station, new shopping center, hall of residence, restaurant, while the existing features such as a university, city center and port have stayed largely untouched.
In 2000, the city used to lack public facilities and had a typical city layout. At the bottom of the plan, there used to be port. On the left-hand side, old market with train station could be seen, whereas the university was in the top right corner. Finally, there were also several trees in the proximity of the university.
By 2026, the city has undergone significant transformation. The most notable changes have been concentrated on the right side, with the trees replaced by the new shopping center and the tramline made available. In the opposite direction, bars and clubs center created. Lastly, the restaraunt created close to port and the road is now for pedestrians only.
