The map compares the alterations that have been made to the waterfront area of Darwin town in a six-year period from 2009 to 2014.
Overall, it is noticeable that most development took place in the central area. And the modifications transferred the industrial area into a residential one.
In 2009, at the bottom was an industrial area which was ,after six years, demolished and separated into 2 sections by adding a footpath with its start at the residential buildings on the left hand side to the newly built harbor on the right.
The two sections, one was forest at the bottom and the other is in the middle of the map. There was a new university building on the left and the swimming pool remained the same on the right. In the middle, three new residential buildings were constructed with the addition of more trees in the space.
On the half top of the map, a pond, which was once an industrial area, a lake and trees were encircled by a footpath which branched into two directions, one led to residential buildings and another to the sea. Above this area consistently remained the swimming pool close to the sea, a school on the left hand side and a convention center next to it to the right. Lastly, on the top left corner of the map, a new swimming pool was constructed on which once was vacant land.
