The maps illustrate the extent to which the ground floor of a certain art gallery has changed from 2005 to 2026.
Overall, the ground floor has gone through major modernization, maintaining its original features while becoming more visitor-friendly and accessible. This transformation involved the introduction of new facilities namely children’s area, temporary exhibitions room and the lift and ramp for wheelchairs.
The ground floor used to offer only a few types of amenities in 2005. The sairs to acces the floor were in the north and south sides. There was a large exhibition room 1 on the right bottom of the map, with the exhibition room 2. And the top right corner was held by an exhibition room 3 which length was almost half of the floor westwards. The right top corner was occupied by the shop and cafe, and the large exhibition room 4 at the right bottom. The gallery office was situated between these to sections. The reception desk lied in front of the stairs.
Since then, ground floor has transformed considerably. While the left side exhibitions rooms remained intact, the lift has been built to at expence of the half the stairs to upper floor. The ramp to wheelchairs has been indroduced in the opposide side. The cafe and shop section was converted into a gallery shop. The demolition of gallery office has made way for vending machines. The receptions was redesigned and relocated to the middle of the place. The interactive children’s area has been build in the left bottom, and the temporary exhibition room has been eracted behind that. Nevertheless, these last to developments came at cost of exhibition room 4
