The maps illustrate the evolution of the ground floor of a gallery since 2005. Overall, the elimination of exhibition 4, café and shop, and gallery office has created room for the introduction of children’s interactive area, gallery shop, vending machines, and temporary exhibitions. Additionally, the area has been modernized with the addition of an elevator and wheelchair ramp. The remaining areas such as Exhibition 1, 2, and 3 have stayed untouched.
In 2005, the gallery used to have a large exhibition space: two smaller exhibitions to the right of the entrance, and one at the top-right corner of the gallery. The largest exhibition room could be seen when entered the gallery. The far-left corner used to boast a shop and a gallery office. There were also stairs at the rear of the map between shop and exhibition room 3. The central area was occupied with a spacious entrance hall and reception desk. The entrance to the gallery was through the steps at the front of the building.
At present, the gallery has undergone significant makeovers. The removal of exhibition room 4 has made room for the smaller temporary exhibition and children’s interactive area, and gallery shop and vending machines have been introduced at the expense of café and shop and gallery office. The access to the second floor has been improved, with an elevator installed next to the stairs. Similarly, next to the original staircase has also been made accessible for the disabled. Finally, the central area underwent significant changes, with the relocation of the reception desk to the place near the entrance.
