These maps show how the establishment of a hydroelectric plant has changed the environment over the years, passing from a rural area to an industrial one.
The past map illustrated a long river separating the area vertically, connecting the two sides through a bridge. On the one hand, on the northwestern side of the area, there was a forest and, just below it, a national park and a historic castle. On the other hand, on the northeastern side of the map, there was a mountain chain and a farmland directly connected to the river. On the southern side of the rural town, a village was located.
In the present map, only the forest, the mountain chain, the bridge and the village have remained unchanged. Where the national park used to exist, there is now a power plant with transmission towers. Furthermore, the river is now shorter and cut in half by a hydroelectric dam that has created a lake in the upper part of the river. Lastly, the farmland has been replaced by a hotel.
