The plans display the layout of Southwest Airport now and next year, after redevelopment.
Overall, it is noticeable that the airport will undergo significant changes after renovation. These changes include the expansion of the airport due to the addition of more gates, introduction of new facilities and the creation of more entrances.
Upon entering the departures hall, passengers will come across passport control and security. Currently, the check-in and café are located before the passport control office. In the future, a bag drop area will take the place of the check-in, while the café will give way for the check-in. As for the café, it will relocate to near one of the departure entrances. Moving pass security, there will be shops, which are absent now. After those is the concourse, which presently has just 8 gates and two walkway .This, however, will be increased by adding more gates( 18 in total) and the walkways replaced with sky trains.
As regards arrivals, there is just the office for passport check and customs now. After redevelopment, conveniences like an ATM, a parking lot and a café will be available for arriving passengers.
