The two maps compare a layout of Southwest Airport currently and after renovations.
Overall, therefore, the main differences will include an expansion in the number of gates, replacement of walkways, and addition of several new features to enhance the convenience of both the departures and arrivals departments.
Looking at the major changes, we can see that currently there are 8 gates, and additional 10 gates will be added in the following year. Moreover, sky trains will replace current walkways, which will be running from gate 1 to gate 18, allowing passengers an easier access to the gates. In the departures area, the check-in counter will relocate to where the café currently stands, while the café itself will move closer to the left side of the entrance.
As for the arrivals area, by next year the current empty space will have been filled by several new facilities, such as a café, an ATM, and a car hire, that will all be located eastwards.
Finally, two extra entrances will be added to the current two, making Southwest Airport even more convenient next year.
