The two maps compare the current layout of Southwest Airport with the planned renovations.
Overall, the main differences will include an expansion in the number of gates, the replacement of walkways, and the addition of several new features aimed at enhancing convenience in both the departure and arrival areas.
Focusing on the major changes, we observe that there are currently 8 gates, with an additional 10 gates set to be added in the coming year. Sky trains will replace the existing walkways, providing easy access for passengers traveling from gate 1 to gate 18. In the departures area, the check-in counter will be relocated to the space currently occupied by the café, while the café itself will move closer to the left side of the entrance.
In the arrivals area, the current empty space will be filled with several new facilities, including a café, an ATM, and a car rental service, all of which will be located to the east.
Lastly, two new entrances will be added to the existing two, further improving the convenience of Southwest Airport in the upcoming year.
