The maps demonstrate the beachfront area in Australia in 1950 as well as give information about how it looks today.
Overall, it can be seen that the beachfront has undergone a significant modernization by adding more amenities such as surf club, and restaurants. One of the most noticeable changes is the expansion in road which may enhance transportation.
In terms of the map in 1950, the visitors could come to the beach via the road to the north which was linked with a car park. To the west of the car park, there were a string of facilities, in which the dining tables were flanked by a playground and the pavilion. The beach was located to the south and a lighthouse was spaced close to it. Moreover, there were two 25 meter pools to the south west and south east of the beach.
Regarding the beach today, there has been a remarkable upgrade in road when it not only has linked to the car park but also is connected with the lighthouse. A new car park has been introduced and has been located in the original place of the playground. To the south west, an area for restaurants has been constructed. Two surf clubs have been built, one opposite the restaurant, one located next to the lighthouse. The pool to the south west of the beach has grown in size from 25 meters to 50 meters.
