The maps illustrate how the industrial area of Norbiton is expected to be redeveloped from its current setup.
It is clear that the area is due to undergo significant redevelopment, notably the addition of many new commercial facilities, and houses, at the expense of a large number of factories.
At present, a series of factories have been built around the ring road and one of its branch to the East. The area with factories is seperated from farmland by a river flowing through the industrial area from East to West. There is also a town situated nearby the estates.
The future of industrial town will look rather different with numerous numbers of factories being radically transformed, affecting the setup of the street system. The big ring road will have three more its branches to the North, East, and West. The original houses to the North and North West will be converted to some new factories. The houses to the South and North East will be lost as a result of the construction of a medical centre, a school, a play ground, shops, and 3 housing estates. One of the streets are to be constructed across the river, with the addition of an estate. Furthermore, a smaller ring road is suggested to be built to the South. Despite numerous changes, the regions with farmland and town will remain the same.
