The image is a comparison of the current and planned future development of the Norbiton industrial area. The top map shows the current layout with a river to the north, farmland to the east, and a town to the south with dashed lines marking their boundaries. A factory is located to the southwest with a shaded rectangle representing a housing area and various straight and curved lines indicating roads. The compass rose points north. The bottom map depicts the planned future development with the same river, farmland, and town placement. However, it includes a playground to the east, a circular road with branches leading to various buildings, including what appears to be a housing area represented by shaded rectangles. The roads are more interconnected and there are additional smaller roads or paths.

The maps illustrate the future development which took place in Norbiton industrial area.
Overall, a comparison of the two maps reveals a complete transformation from a largely industrial to mainly urban area.
In the present day, the town is a largely industrial zone with the exception of farmland over the river, however, in the future, the town will witness a number of significant changes. The most noticeable one is that all of the factories in the south of the river will be demolished to make way for new residential buildings. In addition, new facilities like shops, a medical center and a school will be erected in the south and the east of the area. A new public outdoor recreation area for children will also be built next to the river.
Furthermore, a new roundabout will be erected to the south of the old one, connecting the T-junction. Further developments will be the expansion of the streets, with the inclusion of a new bridge running directly over the river and a new road which leads to a residential area in the north-west corner of the map.
