The maps display the industrial area, Norbiton, in its current form and its proposed expansion.
Overall, it’s clear that the region will be changed into housing area followed by commercial facilities. In the future, the road structure will soon be developed to discover more areas of new buildings and the river which passes through from the west to east will remain, despite the road that will be added over it.
Currently, the town of Norbiton is aimed merely for industrial and farming purposes. At the roundabout, there are factories right in the center of the map. Heading to the north, is the farming area which is right next to the river.
According to the proposal, factories will be demolished as Norbiton will put a greater focus on expansion of residential area. To the south of the map, another roundabout will be constructed followed by shops and medical centre that will be built nearby. Public facilities such as school and playground will also be added towards the east where few houses are also planned to be erected. Whereas towards the northern west direction, houses are expected to dominate which are adjacent to the river. Right across the river, an intersection road will go through the river to provide more housing area. Consequently, farming area will be moved to the easterly direction, and therefore will decrease in size.
