The maps illustrate how Nelson city changed between 2000 and today.

Overall, Nelson city witnessed big changes. There is lots of new facilities which have been added.

In 2000, north side of the city had university, a train station and trees. Now, university remained the same with new road connected to the city centre, while trees were removed and replaced by a new shopping centre. The train station was relocated to the central area and was enhanced. Also, there is a new hall of residents next to the university.

There is 2 new buildings and 1 new facility which has been added to the city centre area. Before, on the left side of city centre was old market. Now, it is replaced by a new shop. Moreover, city centre has new bike rental area today. On the right side of the city centre has been constructed a new covered market.

The south side of the city also has been changed. There is no car road now, it is only available for pedestrians. The river and port remained unchanged, however a restaurant and bars and cluns were constructed on the left side of the port and on the right side, respectively.
