The given maps illustrate the transformation in the Spanish city called Castellon recently.
At first glance, the area has undergone significant changes with the emergence of various recreational and transporting facilities and the disappearance of green spaces.
In 2000, there was a train station in the west, which has been upgraded and repositioned to the middle of the map, making way for a police station. Above the station, the university still has remained unchanged over the period. Besides, to the left side of the academic institution, green spaces have been replaced by a new shopping center and to the remaining side, a hall of residence has been erected. It also has an appearance of an under-constructed airport and a new covered market, which filled the empty lands on the right side of the map in 2000.
The city center now has been more up-to-date with a bike rental scheme and a tramline connecting to the university, which facilitate movement. In addition, the old market on the left of the map was demolished to make room for a new modern shop. Under the urban hub, the road now has banned cars and turned into pedestrian only.
