The maps illustrate developments that took place in the Spanish city of Castellon in recent times compared to the year 2000.
It is clear from the maps that there are significant improvements made regarding facilities and infrastructure in Castellon. Overall, the government has built constructions to fill the city’s blank spaces.
Although everything was replaced or changed, the university still remained on the top middle of the maps with the new tramline connecting this place with the bike rental scheme area where was merged together with the center city land. To the right of the university, the tree area was demolished to make way for the new shopping centre, and the hall of residence was constructed to the left of it.
In terms of transportation, the old train station in the west-north of the city in 2000 was replaced by the police station while the new train station has been placed next to the previous position and the airport has also been under construction to the right of it. The old market was knocked down and the new shop was built to the west-south of Castellon.
The government decided to erect the new cover market located just under the airport and convert the purpose of the main street for cars into only pedestrians. Entertainment and F&B services have developed in the city with the establishment of the cinema and the bar in front of the port.
