The two diagrams compares the layout of a village’s part between 1910 and 2010. Generally, this area underwent a significant transformation, with the prominent change occurred in the distribution of the public infrastructure and accomodation.
In 1910, this zone included 3 main roads: School Road, London Road and High Street, which was formed into the A-shaped area. At the core, it was mainly space for a large house surrounded by numerous plants; however, a grocer, baker and house were also held in the central triangle section, opposite a chain of houses on the High Street. Whereas, a butcher was constructed on the School Road, amid a school and a house. Finally, the post office was located in the intersector of School Road and London Road.
Regarding the design of the village in 2010, the village divided facilities based on their purposes. The large house, trees, and baker were removed to pave the way for the introduction of new residential buildings on two sides of both High Street and London Road. At the same time, while a small path was established to connect the highly densed population in the center of the village’s part to the London Road, the cafe and post office remained untouched. To the north-west of the School Road was the optimal area to build up public facilities, with the old school and a newly constructed parking space, bank and supermarket.
