The maps depict the expected redevelopment of the Islip town from its current setup. Overall, it is evident that Islip town center is presently a countryside area with fewer individual houses. However, it is reconstructed to become more urbanized covered by various commercial facilities, new residents, and transport networks occupying the landscape.
At present, Islip town square is comprised of a block area of shops with a main road running through the center, from west to east. To the south, there are two housing estates with a park situated in the east and a school located in the southwest.
Nevertheless, the future of Islip transformed into a modern city with significant changes to the main shopping area, affecting the rural part. The shops to the north will be knocked down, and altered into a new resident estate, parking area, bus station, and department store. Further noticeable development is the central road, as it will be converted into a pedestrian area with a new brand-ring dual carriageway road constructed around the town. Meanwhile, the school remains in its current location.
