The maps illustrate how the town of Harton changed between 2008 and 2016.
Overall, Harton became a more modern and developed town with new facilities and buildings. The old and unused areas were replaced by educational and commercial places.
In 2008, there was an old town and some derelict warehouses in the north part, next to a woodland and a lake. However, by 2016, these places had been removed and replaced by a university, offices, and a car park. The lake was also changed into a small pond.
In the central area, the arts centre was demolished and a shopping centre was built instead. A new multi-screen cinema appeared next to the school. Meanwhile, the industrial complex and the river in the south remained unchanged. The residential areas still occupied a large part of the town, although some new houses were added near the northern part.
In general, Harton transformed from an old-fashioned town into a more urbanised and functional place over the eight-year period.
