The maps depict the changes that Lakeside experienced over nine years, starting from 2000.
Overall, the area has transformed into a more industrial town. Moreover, almost all of the parts of it changed, with only residential area staying the same over the period.
Analysis reveals that the residential area in the northwest of the city, and school just in the centre stayed the same in 2009, as they had been in 2000.
A closer examination illustrates that the derelict warehouses sited in the north were replaced by the car park, where as the old town gave a way to the offices. Moreover, to the southeast of the offices the university was established, while the multi-screen cinema was built in the place where the Arts Centre used to be. Furthermore, there were two residential areas on the both sides of the river, but the one in the northwest was replaced by the shopping centre, whereas the second, on the southeast was just demolished. The eastern part of the city had been represented by Woodland; however, it a vast area of it was used to widen the area of the industrial complex, and in place of the lake, there was the pond.
