The picture illustrates changes that took place in an area after a hydroelectric power dam was constructed from 1980 to 2000.
Overall, the town underwent a number of dramatic changes, the most important of which are the expansion of river’s center and the development of infrastructure catering for fishing as well as electricity generation. These changes led to the disappearance of rare species’ habitats and agricultural land.
In the northwest area, most of the trees that were habitats for rare plants and animals were cut down, which was accompanied by the demolition of ancient structures. Following this, the industrial complex was built with many electricity stations along the river in the southwest area. The cultivated area was removed for river expansion in the middle of the map, while the hydroelectric dam was constructed with two mountains on both sides.
Regarding the east side, there used to be a village there, but it was then replaced by a hotel. Consequently, it moved to the southeast, next to a power facility and the riverbank.
