The maps depict the evolution of Australian Zoo from1960 to the present, highlighting the significant alterations on the both offshore and onshore facilities. Overall, the transformation revails a substantial rennovation of Zoo amenities, the introduction of a ferry, and cable car, reflecting a shift towards maximizing attaction of visitors.
The layout from 1960 is characterized by a harbour located on the northeast side and a picnic area in the western side of the Zoo. Also, this configuartion housed a small gift shop close to the extrance path which is situated on the southern side of the Zoo. The path is not only connected to water coast on the north, but also have branches that leads to different animal sections. There are five animal areas, namely african animals, australian animals, birds, seal show, and chimpanzees.
In contrast, the current plan illustrates a contemporary design that prioritizes attactiveness of the Zoo. The entrances on the both side of the Zoo have been equipped with gates, and the gift shop has been extended to suit current visitors demand. Additionally, a cable car has been build up to shorted walk time to another side of the Zoo. The harbour has been moved to the northwest side of the sea and a ferry was added. The presence of both the chimpanzees and the birds areas were eliminated, while african animals has been repurposed into wild animals area. The remaining facilities, including the picnic area remain unchanged.
