The three maps provided illustrate the alteration of Meadowside village and Fonton, which is near to a neighbouring town. Data is presented for 1962, 1985 and the current day.
Overall, what stands out from the maps was that both the Meadowside village and Fonton were remarkably undergone through the several years, in addition, a considerable number of facilities were created negligibly.
In 1962, despite the fact that there was a lack of facilities, the village was springing up the three major structures, including a housing estate, a superstore, and a leisure complex in 1985. The railway line was narrow which doubled in size and extended to north-eastern in 1985, at present, the hamlet was linked to the eastern.
Another noticeable change was the Fonton, which was located in the east and lacked structures. During the 20th century, the Fonton was expanding gradually in order to join with the western area. Ultimately, a hotel, a station, and a business park were built in the middle of the two areas.
