The image comprises two maps, the first marked "City, 1950 – population 20,000" and the second marked "City, now – population 200,000". Both maps show a river with a bridge crossing it, a major road running parallel, an airport in the southeast, and business, residential, and government zones represented by specific patterns. The 1950 map features a singular, central business district north of the river, a government building to the west, and a residential area spanning southeast. The contemporary map shows expanded business districts north and south of the river, merging with larger residential areas surrounding two lakes formed by a dam on the river westward, and an additional southwest government building. Both maps have a compass indicating north at the top.
Given the complexity of the image, the above description may not be entirely accurate.

The two plans show the changes that have been made to the certain city since 1950. Overall, the city’s population has increased dramatically, as well as its whole territory and infrastructure have expanded. Additionally, the dam has been erected, thus creating a considerably large lake artificially.
Probably the most noticeable modification has been made to the centre of the city, since a wide lake has appeared due to the dam construction, hence leading to the building of the new bridge to the east of the city, and creating more roads crossing the city in the south and leading to the bridges, therefore creating more convenient ways of intercepting the area. Additionally, the residential area with the business district have been enlargened significantly, now being divided by the lake.
In the South-East of the area the airport expansion has occurred. The city is now accommodating two state buildings splited by the road in the South-East, though only on the Southern shore. The newly designed building is twice as large as the old one.
