The diagram illustrates the development of the local industrial town called Stamdorf in England in 1985 and 2015. Overall, the town has experienced some significant changes to be much more industrialised. The most noticeable was the construction of a huge industrial area, two housing estate and a industrial staff quarter, the upgrading of wooden bridge and the repositioning of other facilities.
It is clear that at the northwest of the river, in 1985, a factory located at the right side of the main road would be replaced with forest which next to three small roadside inns in the next 30 years. In addition, there was the housing estate 2 buildings situated at the bottom of the map. Notably, a wooden bridge connecting the main road across the Thames river was enhanced into a steel one; also, the freeway and Thames river remained unchanged.
At the other side of the river, an industrial area surrounded by numerous trees was built at the north side of the map, and it was to the northeast of the industrial staff quarter; moreover, this area was connected to the freeway with a small road to be more accessible. At the opposite side of the main road, the remained field was to the South of the housing estate 1, which next to the rows of trees on the freeway. Additionally, the field would be situated in parallel to a forest.
