The maps below illustrate the changes in the village of Meadowside and the town of Fonton between 1962 and the present day.
Overall, Meadowside village expanded significantly, eventually connecting with the neighboring town of Fonton.
In 1962, Meadowside was a small rural village located to the northwest of Fonton. It mainly consisted of scattered houses surrounded by farmland, with few roads linking the buildings. Fonton, on the other hand, was a larger settlement with a more developed town center, featuring a main road running through it and several clusters of houses. There were also some commercial buildings and public facilities such as a school and a church.
By the present day, Meadowside has expanded considerably towards the southeast, filling in much of the farmland with new housing estates and additional roads. The once distinct boundary between the two settlements has disappeared, as Meadowside’s growth has physically connected it to Fonton. In Fonton, several new residential areas and amenities have been added, including a shopping center and expanded road networks, reflecting the overall urban development of the region.
