The diagram shows proposals to transform Lake side between 2000 and 2009. It’s the fact that the place has turned into a more industrial area compared to nine years ago.
We can clearly see that the industrial complex was much smaller, while the free spaces were much larger than the past nine years. There are three residential areas with 2 on the north and one across the river. There was an arts centre between two residential area and an old town, right above it were the derelict warehouses. On the right side, the woodland was much larger with a lake in the middle of it.
It’s true that the most noticeable changes are the expand of the industrial complex and the previous lake now has been turned into a much smaller pond. There were also much fewer residential areas and they were replaced by the newer buildings, one of them was the shopping centre. The arts centre had been rebuilt into a multi-screen cinema and the warehouses replaced by a car park. There were also a new university and some offices in between the school and the new car park.
