Overall, the interior of the museum witnessed significant changes, with new facilities and a different layout. In contrast, the exterior underwent only slight changes, as the garden was cut down in size and part of the car park removed to make space for other facilities.
Regarding the main museum building, the internal layout witnessed significant changes over the period. In 1990, there were two exhibition rooms in the north-east corner, which used to be separated by walls before being merged into one by 2010. During the same period, the shop, which is located on the left-hand side of the entrance, was expanded by replacing one of the museum’s old exhibition rooms. Meanwhile, the store room in the north-west corner and the entrance continued to occupy the same location, with no alteration in size.
As for the surrounding areas, in 1990, there was a cottage stood adjacent to the main road; however, this was replaced by a café in 2010. In addition, the car park experienced a remarkable shift that was extended by taking over the garden in the southern area, extending all the way to the main road. The other garden area in the north remained unchanged in terms of scale, although the several trees were cut down two decades later.
