The two maps illustrate how Pentland had changed(modified) between 1980 to 2007. Overall, it is evident that the resort saw spectacular developments, with adding entertainment places such as cinema, swimming pool and shops. Moreover, a lot of apartments/houses were built and the sea became the yacht marina.

In terms of the eastern part of the resort, the most considerable modifications have been that buildings such as apartments, houses and shops were built, although in 1980 this land was grassland. In the north, the sea was transformed into a yacht marina.Also near to the yacht was built a park.

As for the western side, land that used to be an industrial area became a car park and pool by 2007. Also, the main road was extended, providing access to a newly constructed yacht marina. Likewise, the south-west side was originally vacant, however, it was developed into a cinema in the later map.
