The chart demonstrates the number of American families by their annual income in 2007, 2011 and 2015. Figures are shown in the unit of millions.
Overall, families earning less than 50 thousands dollars and families earning more than a hundred thousand dollars accounted for a massive percentage among all US households. The income ratio remained constant over the 8-year period.
The ‘$10, 000 or more’ group had the most households in the US in 2007 with the number of 29 millions, it then dropped by 2 millions in 2011, but rose to over 33 millions in 2015. An opposite trend had illustrated on famities having less than $25,000 and $25,000-$49,999 annual income, with 25 millions and 26 millions households respectively in 2007, went up to 28 millions and 29 millions households in 2011, declined to 27 millions and 28 millions after 4 years.
The rest of the income groups didn’t show significant fluctuations throughout the given time period. The amount of American households which earned $50,000-$74999 annually remained slightly above 20 millons. The ‘$75,000-$99.999’ group, which was the least proportioning group, kept the number of households below 15 millions.
