The pie chart illustrates the percentage for producing electricity by using types of fuel in France in 1990 and 2010.
Overall, coal and natural gas were leaders [by contributing similar numbers] of types of fuel to produce electricity in 1990. In the meantime oil was relatively similar to the highest proportion, replacing the second commonly used fuel source. In 2010, the leading proportion was nuclear power and next least percentages were coal and oil contributing a similar percentage.
In 1990, for production of electricity coal and natural gas were used in equal numbers, accounting for 28 percent, WHICH WERE THE MOST SIGNIFICANT FUEL SOURCES. The second most commonly used fuel source was oil, with slightly less THAN 22%. IN THE MEANTIME, Nuclear power’S SHARE was over 17% and THE LEAST popular type of fuel source for producING electricity was hydro power, constitUTING 6%.
In 2010, the most popular source BECAME nuclear power with 67%, A four-Fold increase since 1990. The similar proportions were in oil and coal, WHICH USAGE DROPPED TO 13%. Natural gas had a significant decrease, accounting by 4%. Notably, hydro power stayed last in producing electricity, having decreased from 6% to 4%.
