The given image illustrates how the layout of the university sports centre has been transformed over the last couple of decades. Overall, there have been significant changes, with the addition of new sports, teaching, and healthcare facilities, as well as a running track, while some old features have been removed. Of a particular note, the football pitch has been upgraded to be accessible in all weather conditions. Additionally, the swimming pool has been reduced in size.
In 2007, the sports centre offered a limited range of amenities. The swimming pool was located in the central right area, directly below which stood a tennis court. To the left of the swimming pool, there was a teaching facility containing 20 units, and a temporary teaching hut was situated to its lower left. At the top centre of the campus, a grass football pitch occupied the largest space.
At present, the sports complex provides a much wider variety of facilities. The temporary teaching hut has been replaced by a two-storey teaching block, adjacent to which are a laboratory, a clinic, and a first-aid building. The football pitch has been upgraded to an all-weather field, surrounded by a newly built running track. The central teaching facilities have expanded, increasing the number of units to 47. Meanwhile, the swimming pool has been reduced in size to make space for a squash court, which has replaced the former tennis court.
