The given pie charts represent a sources of generated electricity from all types and renewables in Germany and France in 2009.
Overall, there were 3 main resources in the all types chart: conventional thermal, nuclear, and renewables. While there were 5 sources in the renewables chart: biomass, wind, hydroelectric, solar and geothermal.
To begin, there were some major origins in the both all types charts. For instance, in Germany conventional thermal was 59.6 percent, while in France nuclear was at 76 percent. Moreover, there were secondary sources, in Germany nuclear was 23 percent, in France conventional thermal was 10.3 percent. There were also different ratio of renewable energy and it was more considerable in Germany. For example, in France it was only 13.7 percent, although it was about 17.4 percent in Germany.
Interestingly, there were leaders and outsiders in renewables charts as well. For instance, in Germany, biomass energy was the most widespread, about 39.3 percent, while in France it was hydroelectric, roughly 80.5 percent. Wind was the second popular energy source in Germany and France, about 36.9 and 10,5 percent, respectively. Ultimately, Geothermal energy was the least used in 2009, in both countries 0 percent.
