The graphics illustrate the comparison of energy produced in 2015 and the prediction of energy in 2040. There are five different types of energy below the charts (fossil fuels, wind, nuclear, solar, and other renewables).
Overall, the most notable growth was experienced by solar energy and was approximately 18 percent. Fossil fuels experienced a dramatic fall in 2040. The values of the produced energy increased in 2040 and reached almost twice the value of 2015.
The fossil fuels saw a dramatic decrease in 2040 (approximately 20%). Meanwhile, the other renewable energy sources slightly decreased in 2040 (almost 21 percent), and the nuclear energy production almost remained the same. It lost only 1 percent of its value.
The noticeable increase happened in both solar and wind energies. Although solar energy produced only 2% in 2015, it reached 18 percent of the total energy capacity in 2040. In the meantime, the energy produced from wind was only 5 percent in 2015. However, in 2040, it made 12 percent and exceeded twice the value in 2015.
