Water usage in San Diego and California has nearly similar patterns, with both using the majority of water in residences (60% and 39% respectively). However, there is a ten percent discrepancy between the figures for industrial use of water in those locations, for which California spends one-third of its total in industries. In terms of agriculture, San Diego and California used the lowest percentages, 17% in the former and 28% in the latter.
In contrast, worldwide usage is dominated by agricultural use (69%), being three times as high as the data for industries. The smallest proportion is reported in residential consumption of water around the world (8%), though.
