The two pie charts illustrate how much money was allocated to major household’s categories (housing, food, health care, education, transportation and other) in two years 1950 and 2010.

Overall, in 1950 housing accounted for nearly three quarters, while only a tiny fraction of the budget was allocated to health care. However, in 2010 food accounted for a large proportion of the budget whereas the percentage of food plummeted and on other stuff was spent almost a quarter.

In terms of food, in 1950 it was exactly 11.2 percent and throughout the period significantly upsurge and became the biggest expenditure, other went up by approximately 15 percent from 4.4 percent, while health care remained the smallest category with 4.5 percent in 2010. Despite the fact that in 1950 on transportation was spent only 3.3 percent by 2010 it had substantially uplifted to exactly 14 percent.

On the other hand, housing and food has deteriorated in 2010 housing was 22 percent and 6.3 percent respectively.
