The chart demonstrates distribution of household earnings spent on different categories, such as food, housing, entertainment, healthcare and savings in city A in the year 2023.
Overall, household income was mostly spent on food, meanwhile on housing it was spent a little less. The least number of income was spent on savings, which means not many people saved up for unexpected situations.
First, food spendings were the highest among other distributions of income. It was about 30 percent, which shows that food is the most important factor of people’s lives. For example, even though the income may be lower than previous month, people still spend money on food, just not to be hungry. The second highest expenditure was housing, making up to 25 percent. This explains that food and housing are life essentials to live.
On the other hand, there were smaller spendings on entertainment, healthcare and savings. Entertainment had 20 percent of household income, after which healthcare comes about 15 percent, meanwhile, savings were the lowest sharing 10 percent of income from household expenses. This proves the fact, future needs are not necessary like daily expenses.
