The two charts provide information about the percentage of women living in poverty and the rates of poverty among different genders by age in the United States in 2008. Overall, it is clear that single women with no dependent children had the highest proportion of poverty, while women in general represented the majority in the poverty classifications.

In detail, in 2008, single women without dependent children led the pie chart, accounting for more than half of the total. Conversely, single women with dependent children represented only 26%. The lowest proportions were seen among married women, with those having dependent children accounting for 12%, and those without dependent children making up 8%.

Turning to the bar chart, the age group under five years showed the highest rate of poverty for both males and females, each at one-fifth. Among women aged 18-24, the poverty rate was approximately 20%. In contrast, elderly women aged 65 and above had a poverty rate of around 10%. However, older individuals aged 64 and up also exhibited a high rate, approximately 15%, in the United States.

It is also claimed that women have achieved greater freedom and have access to the same opportunities as men. The pia chart below show some employment patterns in a developed country.
