The pie charts illustrate the proportion of five different categories of energy production of France in two distinct years.
Overall, gas and coal shared the largest proportion in the both years. All kind of energy production increased over the years, except the petrol it fell in 2005.
To begin with, the gas and coal had relatively similar proportion in both years. The production of gas increased by 1 percentage point from 29.63% to 30.31% after ten years. Likewise, the coal production also constituted for increment by 1 percentage point at 30.93% in 2005, which had 29.80% of the proportion in 1995. Furthermore, nuclear accounted for 6.40% in 1995, after a decade it rose up to 10.10%.
On the other hand, petrol was the only energy production that decreased over a period. In 1990, it had 29.27% of proportion from total amount of production and in 2005 it fell to 19.55%. However, the other category had inclined by nearly 4 percentage points in 2005 from 4.90% to 9.10%.
