The pie chart compares women of different composition of household on poverty, while the bar chart shows the poverty rates by gender and age in the United States.
It is visible that, women who are not married are in a more state of poverty than the ones who are, furthermore, women with no dependent kids are the least poor compared to the rest. Men and women of all ages tend to be at same same poverty levels throughout their lives with a slight difference in women each year.
Looking at the chart, it can be seen that the highest poverty rates in the US are single women with no children making up 54% of all women in poverty. In addition, the number of single women with kids is almost two times less with 26%. It is obvious that, married women with and without dependent children are the least poor at 12% and 8%.
There are considerable differences when comparing men’s and women’s poverty rates of various ages. Both of them are beginning to be more financially responsible at their 20s and 30s, although women are in a slightly more rate of poverty no matter the age. Men with the lowest poverty rates in the United States are often older than 65 as presented in the chart, while for women, that number is from 45 to 60.
