The charts compare four different companies and others in terms of their sales of phones globally and in Japan and France in 2005.
Overall, the global sales of phones showed a following trend: Nokia sold the highest proportion of phones, followed by Samsung, Motorola, Sony and other companies. It is also clear that the higher percentage of phones were sold by almost all companies in France, with the exception of Sony which was more popular in Japan.
Starting with the sales of phones around the world first, Nokia dominated this market, standing at whopping 40%. Ranked second, the figure for Samsung made up 30%, which was twise as high as that of Motorola. Having almost the least percentage of phones sold, Sony accounted for 10%, whereas the figure for other companies lagged far behind at meare 5%.
As for France and Japan, almost all companies in France exceeded those in Japan, except for Sony. The figures for other companies, Samsung, Nokia and Motorola in France sold phones at the close range from 17% to 26%, which were lower by 1-2% for the companies in Japan. The only company whose sales were higher in Japan than in France was Sony, with 29% for the former and 9% for the latter.
