The provided table shows the total value of fish imported by the United States and three pie charts depict information about the percentage of fish imported into the United States from three different regions in 1988,1992 and 2000.
In general, it is evident from the table that total cost of fish increased over the given period. In terms of pie charts, Canada was initially the leading fish supplier to the US. However, it saw a download trend in 1992 that caused it to be surpassed by other sources since 1992.
If we have a closer view, it can be noticed that cost of fish imported has raisen significantly between 1988 and 2000. Starting from $6.57 billions in 1988, this value increased in 1992 and the cost was $8.52 billions. Between 1992 and 2000 the value of fish imported by the US also increased $2.2 billions.
In terms of pie charts, in 1988 the proportion of fish exported to the US by Canada was 60% followed by other sources at 13% and 27% respectively. The percentage of fish exported from Canada was decreased in 1992which was 34% and continued it’s downward trend and the proportion dropped 28% in 2000. By contrast, fish exported from other sources was 27% in 1988 and this percentages rose up 46% in 1992. But the percentage of fish from other sources slightly dropped to 42% in 2000.On the other hand, the proportion of fish exported from China continuously increased over the 12 year period.
