Overall, it is readily apparent that adult population was significantly higher than other age groups in both the nations. While the proportion of adults in Brazil will rise, Germany will witness a decline in the number of adults. Moreover, the number of seniors will also increase in both the nations; young population will decline in future.
In 2000, the percentage of adults in Brazil and Germany were equivalent to 65%, whereas the number of senior citizens were substantially high in Germany, with 22%, and Brazil had just 5% population of seniors. In contrast, the proportion of youth in Brazil were 30%, and in Germany there were 13% people falling in the youth category.
In 2050, it is projected that the adult population will rise to 70% in Brazil; however, Germany will saw a decline in the numbers, to 48%. Additionally, the number of young people will plunge to 17% in Brazil; a slight fall is noticeable in Germany, at 12%. Finally, the dependent aged people will surge in both the countries, reaching 13% in Brazil, and 40% in Germany.
