The charts illustrate the proportion of energy produced by different resources in Australia and prediction for 2030.
Overall, the proportion of energy generated by coal decreased sightly by 2030,while the figures for the rest of energy sources had an opposite trend. Also, gas was the most significantly sources of energy in both years.
In 2008,energy produced by coal accounted for the highest proportion ,at 39% of the total energy production in Australia, followed by gas at 32% and oil at 22%.Meanwhile only 3.8% the total energy was generated by others and the lowest figure can be seen in the percentage of energy produced by hydro , at 0,2%.The figure for wind and solar contributed minimally,at 0.3% and at 1.3% respectively.
In 2030,the percentage of energy from coal declined significantly to 27% ,while the figure for gas and oil witness a upward trend at 32% and at 35,5% respectively.Meanwhile, the figure for energy produced by others decreased to 3.6 and wind ,hydro and geothermal are predicted to increase significantly to 1.2% ,0.7% and 4.3% respectively.
