The pie charts compare the employment patterns of males and females in Great Britain in 1992.
Overall, it is clear that women were mainly employed in clerical or related jobs, while men were mostly employed in managerial and professional positions. In addition, craft or similar jobs were famous among males more than females.
Looking at females, clerical or related jobs accounted for the largest proportion, at 31%, followed by managerial and professional work at roughly 29%. The data for other manual jobs represented 27% of employment. In contrast, the figures for other non-manual work, craft or similar jobs and general labourers were much lower, which made up 9%, 3% and 1% respectively.
Turning to males, managerial and professional occupations were the most common category, at 36%. The data for other manuals were 26% of the employment, followed by crafts at 24%. Finally, the figures for clerical or related, other non manual work patterns were similar, at 6% each.
