Overall, airline operations management was the most significant problems by far in both years, followed by mostly the air traffic control and poor weather condition.
The three biggest problems that caused flight delayed were airline operations management, air traffic control and poor weather condition, with 40%, 12% and 23%, respectively. However, whilst airline operations management and poor weather condition increased, air traffic control saw a notable decrease to 12%. Additionally, poor weather condition replaced air traffic control as the second-highest problems, reaching 23% in 2016.
The remaining two problems that have a least affection on the flight delay were airport security and military factors, with 4% and 10%, respectively. However, in 2016, whilst airport security start to rise, reaching 13%, military factor saw a slightly decrease to 6%. Consequently, airport security went from the least worrisome problems in the 2015 to the third biggest problems in 2016.
