The shopping sales for retail sectors online in New Zealand in 2003 and 2013 are depicted by the given pie chart. Overall, online sales in different sectors have undergone several changes by the year 2013. The sales are measured in percentages.
It is evident that the people who travelled in 2003 represented most of the pie chart with 36%, making it the highest of all other sectors; the percentage dropped to 29% in 2013, which now stands as the second highest. Another sector is clothes, even though it had more sales after travel in 2003 with 24%, it significantly fell in 2013 with an 8% difference making it the least purchased.
The other two categories increased their sales in 2013, even though they had fewer sales in 2003. Firstly, The film/music industry has seen a drastic change as it soared from 21% to 33%, which became the highest category for having more sales. It is also clear that the book industry gradually increased by 3% of its sales from 2003.
Although the travel and clothes sector’s online sales soared in 2003, they had seen a great downfall in 2013. With less online sales in 2003, the books and film/music categories gained their sales in 2013.
