Overall it could be explained by the fact that, amount of all kinds of book in three years adult fiction has the largest proportion. By contrast, in 1972, three kind of books, such as biography, children fiction, and adult fiction has the same percentage. However, “others” type of book was the largest. While in 1992, Adult fiction become the largest amount of all kind of books, after continued to be largest.
Looking at the pie chart in more detail, in 1972, the percentages of adult fiction, biography and children’s fiction were all the same, with 20%. Travel books was 15%, and “others” was the largest category with 25%. In 1992, adult fiction become the largest category with 25%. Children’s fiction also rose up to 22%. Travels book went up with 18%, but biography decreased to 15%. The “others” category fell down to 20%.
It could be explained by the fact, in 2012, adult fiction became much more popular, rising to 45%. Children’s fiction also increased to 25%. However, travel declined till 10%, and biography fell to 8%. The “others” category became the smallest with 12%.
