The pie chart illustrates changes in the proporton of household spending on six different categories in particular European nation between 1990 and 2020.
In general, it is noticeable that different trends were observed in all the given groups throughout the period. The highest percentage of household spending on food in the first year, but it groups lost its dominance in the last year, while the figure for ‘housing’ became dominant in 2020. The opposite was true for ‘other’, while it reimained in last place in all the given year.
In the initial year, ‘food’ took the most spending on this category among the six categories, stood at 35%, which was followed by a substantial reduction to 20% in 2020. ‘Housing’ accounted for 25% of money being spent on this group. In the following decades, there was a significant growth to 35% in the final year, and it changed the highest among all the given groups. The percentage of household was spending for transport in 1990, making up 15%, in the following year, this saw a gradual rise to the same as that of food in the year 2020, at 20%, in a European country.
In 1990, ‘entertainment’ and ‘clothing’ showed the same proprotion of spending on these categories, at 10 each. In the following decades, ‘entertainment’ witnessed a slight increase to 15% in the final year, by contrast, ‘clothing’ saw a decrease to 5% . The lowest percentage of household spending for ‘other’ in the first year, standing at 5%, which followed by a remaind unchanged in last place in the same figure among the six groups in a European country.
