The two charts illustrate the percentages of individuals visiting Ireland last year by their ages, their gender, and their visit type.
It is clear from the first chart that the highest portion of visitors were between the ages of 25 – 34 and
45 – 54 both at 23%. Followed by visitors aged between 35 – 44 at 19%, 55 – 64 at 11%, 16 – 24 and
66+ at 9%. Meanwhile, the age group who least visited Ireland were infants, toddlers and teenagers between the ages of 0 -15 at 6%.
Overall, the second chart shows that there weren’t many business visitors, unlike leisure visitors who had the highest proportion. The percentages for both male and female business visitors where 13% were males and 4% were females. Unlike the Leisure visitors who made up more than three-fourth of the total visitors with 43% being males and 40% being females.
