The pie charts compare the amount of electricity produced by using different types of fuel in two countries in two separate years.
It is clear that the amount of electricity produced increased dramatically in both Australia and France from 1980 to 2000. Although the total production was the same in two nations, there were big differences in the amount of each fuel source used.
Coal was used to produce 50 of the total 100 units in Australia in 1980 and increased to 130 out of 170 in 2000. While it was only used 25 in France in 1980 and remained the same in 2000. Nuclear power became the largest fuel source in France in 2000, which accounted for 126 out of 180 units.
Australia depended on Hydro Power for just under 25 units in both years, but the amount of using this type of fuel source fell from 5 to 2 units in France. Oil, on the other hand, remained a relatively importance fuel source in France, but its use declined in Australia. Both countries relied on natural gas for producing electricity more significantly in 1980 than in 2000.
